Chapter 316 Heart Of Yggrisial [12]
"I believe....Heaven is about to fall."
A complete silence hung at Elife's words.
A confused look etched on everyone's face as they looked at her.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Nerissa asked, tilting her head.
"It's exactly as I said." Elife's gaze remained steady. "Pleroma is crumbling. It's beginning to merge with Lumina."
"...What?" Mariam asked, her brows knitted together.
Her lips curled up in a gentle smile. "It won't be long before Lumina starts feeling the effects."
"I still don't understand," Rosalie interjected, her voice laced with uncertainty. "Heaven will fall? Just like that?"
Elife let out a soft sigh and snapped her fingers.
The space around them twisted.
The Yggdrasil is complex.
It has a subspace of its own that is divided into different parts.
The place around them twisted as she took them to a different space 'within' the world tree.
The air around them thickened, wrapping into a haze of violet and gold.
Elife raised her hand, and the world around them started to submerge, turning into something else.
A living memory.
A few elders gasped.
A sky far more beautiful than anything they had ever seen stretched around them.
A sky filled with auroras.
"This..." Mariam whispered, her gaze fixed on the sky. "...It looks like the sky when a Child of Mana is born."
"What is this?" Nerissa asked, turning back to Elife.
"The earliest memory of Yggdrasil." Elife leaned back in her wooden chair, watching their reactions. "The time of its birth. The era when the Origin Race ruled Lumina."
Nerissa looked down. Below them stood figures that resembled humans—but they were anything but.
Beings that had bodies with visible starlight veins.
Pristine white horns adorned their heads, and their presence alone felt otherworldly.
"At that time," Elife whispered, her voice resonating within their minds, "Yggdrasil's roots extended into both Heaven and Hell."
Before anyone could fully grasp her words,
The world shuddered.
A tear appeared in the sky, opening a path for the starry stars.
A storm poured forth.
The Origin Beings clutched their heads, blood seeping from their eyes as their minds fractured under the weight of collapsing dimensions.
The memory shifted.
The next thing they saw was the colossal root of Yggdrasil falling from the sky.
"The next memory is just that." Elife explained, the root started to shake the place. "Yggdrasil was cut off—from both Heaven and Hell."
A crack echoed within the memory.
"But before it was severed, Yggdrasil took two things," Elife continued. "Things that nourished Yggdrasil—Heaven's Light—and Hell's Core."
The memory shifted again, showing them a different place.
A memory that may be the past or perhaps the future?
A memory of a war.
A war that shook the entire Lumina.
A war that split continents in half.
Elife's voice was quiet, almost wistful. "I had hoped I was wrong, but..." The memory began to dissolve, fading into mist.
"Pleroma is shifting. And it's moving toward Lumina."
The vision faded.
They were back in the serene garden.
Elife sat calmly in her chair, her expression unreadable.
"...."
A silence lingered within the place.
They couldn't understand the meaning behind her words.
"...Why show us these memories?" Nerissa finally asked, breaking the stillness.
"Because," Elife murmured, "I believe Heaven has fallen onto Lumina before."
Mariam's voice was soft with realization. "And the memories we saw… were from that time."
"Yeah." Elife nodded quietly. "I could be wrong, but it might be exactly that."
Kelvhan, who had been standing quietly beside his father, finally spoke. "Then what do we do?"
Elife shook her head. "I don't know."
Nerissa let out a dry laugh, crossing her arms. "So we just wait for our doom?"
"Not necessarily." Elife's lips curved into a faint smile. "You're not the only ones I've told about this."
"Hm?" Mariam tilted her head in confusion.
"I talked with Buinal about this before." She said, looking at them.
Elife smiled nostalgically as she remembered the first Child of Mana.
The boy who used to play with her.
The same boy who became the person who made Akasha a living place.
"What did he say?" Mariam asked.
Elife's smile widened. "That as long as Akasha exists, Heaven cannot fall onto Lumina."
Mariam's gaze sharpened. "You're saying Akasha acts as an anchor?"
"I believe so." Elife nodded. "But there is another anchor—something, or someone, that Pleroma fears."
"So as long as that thing is alive," Nerissa asked, looking at her. "We are safe?"
"Maybe." Elife's voice turned soft, almost distant. "Or perhaps… he will be the reason for our doom."
A heavy silence lingered in the place.
Elife gently closed her eyes.
"Soon," she whispered, so quietly it was almost lost.
"...I will finally speak with you soon."

"Are we going to the right place?"
Elise asked, her glowing green eyes staring at Aimar's back.
"There is no 'right' way," Aimar retorted without sparing her a glance. "We're looking for Pasithea, not a specific location."
Elise huffed in annoyance. "Fine. But what would she be doing in the kitchen?"
"Why wouldn't she be?" Aimar shot back, his tone as calm as ever. "Maybe she was just hungry."
Elise thought for a while before she nodded. "You may be right about that."
"I know," he said, abruptly taking a sharp turn down another corridor. "And now, kindly shut up."
Elise pouted but picked up her pace, her black hair swaying as she ran to keep up.
Her mind wandered to the last time she saw Pasithea. Something had seemed off.
For some reason, she seemed agitated about something.
As if brother—.
"Ouch!"
Elise squeaked as she crashed into Aimar's back, nearly knocking both of them over.
"Sheesh," Aimar muttered, grabbing her hand and pulling her behind a stone pillar.
Elise scowled, yanking her hand free.
"Warn me next time!" she whispered before peeking over his shoulder.
A group of three guards wearing chainmail armor patrolled the area.
"Can't we just take them out?" Elise asked, glancing at Aimar. "It's only three of them—"
"We don't have time," Aimar cut in, his golden eyes flashing.
He raised his hand, and a glowing magic circle materialized in his palm.
It flickered for a moment before shrinking in size and floating away.
Another circle shimmered to life at his side.
It turned into a purple portal.
"Go inside." He said, turning to look at Elise. "We need to—."
"That's so cool." Elise whispered, her eyes sparkling. "How did you—."
"Just go!" He cut off her words, glaring at her.
Elise grumbled softly before she walked inside the portal.
Aimar followed behind.
They quickly found themselves in the kitchen.
Elise gasped, covering her mouth.
Aimar's expression also hardened as he took in the scene in front of him.
Hundreds of dead bodies lay in front of them.
Their bodies sprawled around the kitchen, some still oozing blood from their wounds.
"We should move." Aimar whispered softly as he turned around.
But his nape tingled as soon as he turned.
Aimar ducked just as a blade whistled through the air, missing his head by inches.
A guard, the only one still standing, yanked his sword back and lunged for another strike.
Aimar raised his hand.
A small portal materialized in front of him.
The guard's hand got submerged into the portal.
His wide eyes met Aimar's, who smirked.
"ARGHH!!!"
The guard let out a cry as his hand was cut clean, blood oozing out of it.
A kick to his chest made him fall on his back.
Before he could react, Elise's long nails scratched his face.
The man choked as his skin blackened, his veins turning a sickly, rotting hue.
His blood thickened, curdling into a dark, pulsing mass.
He collapsed, convulsing.
"Let's go." Elise said, looking back at Aimar, who stared at her.
"Is that a curse?" He asked as they began to move.
"Yeah." Elise replied, her voice tinged with pride. "My family's vampiric ability."
"I see." Aimar nodded, looking ahead.
A wall blocked their path.
Aimar raised his hand, and a portal emerged in front of them.
They quickly rushed inside it.
But the moment they emerged on the other side, Aimar fell down.
He clutched his chest as he tried to get back up.
"Aimar?" Elise whispered, rushing to his side.
His breath came in sharp gasps, his hands clutching his chest.
His vision blurred.
His eyes started to show him a new vision he couldn't understand.
Visions of something absurd.
Visions of a tall woman with bright yellow eyes smiling at him.

"Fuck, fuck."
Hayes grimaced as he rushed through the corridors of the royal palace.
In his hand was a crystalline orb-like object that looked dead.
The orb that should have been radiating with energy wasn't even showing any life.
A small circle in it, which shouldn't have been empty.
"Where are we even going?" Ries asked, his voice filled with strain.
"To find Princess Pasithea!" Hayes snapped as he heard the same question again and again. "She might know where Aetheria's core is."
"Are you sure?" Ries asked, looking at him doubtfully. "To me, it just seems like a worthless struggle—."
"Shut up!" Hayes barked, glaring at him. "If you can't help, then just be fucking silent."
Ries shrugged. "Sure."
They quickly moved through the corridor, trying to find Pasithea.
The guards he brought from the Solace Kingdom flanked around him.
"Why the fuck did they keep the core away from it?" Hayes grumbled, cursing the elves in his mind. "Can't they just keep it in one place?"
"Why should they?" Ries replied, being logical for once. "It's better to keep its core away, so even if stolen, it's useless—."
"Shut up! Shut up!" Hayes snapped, glaring at him.
His mind was thinking if he should strangle him right here or not.
They quickly rushed past another place as they reached an open hallway.
But they slowed down as someone stood on the opposite side, blocking their path.
A few black feathers sprawled across the place, and cold wind rushed inside from an open window.
But Hayes's sole attention was on the lone boy standing in front of them.
A lean, handsome boy with long, pristine white hair with a purple undertone.
His heterochromic eyes staring at them.
"Hier Himmel?" Hayes said, smiling awkwardly as he hid Aetheria behind him. "What are you doing her—."
"How could you?" Himmel asked, his expression pained.
Hayes tilted his head. "What do you mean?"
"How could you steal it?" He asked, and Hayes flinched. "They are the legacy of the first Child of Mana."
"I don't know what you are talking about." Hayes replied, feigning ignorance.
"Taking away everything from the locker—."
"Wait, everything?" Hayes asked, his brows knitting together.
"Yeah." Himmel replied, nodding his head. "Didn't you empty everything?"
"We did not!" Ries rebuked, looking at him. "We only took Aetheria—."
"Can you shut up, idiot."Hayes barked, frustration on his face.
"So you took 'everything' and Aetheria."Himmel smiled. "Hand it over."
"We didn't take anything....."
Hayes's words trailed off as Himmel took out a beautiful katana.
...Hayes recognized it.
It was one of the things that was kept on display in the locker.
"Kill him." Hayes said coldly as he turned around. "And take everything that he possesses."
Hayes, along with Ries and the blue-armored guard, started to move away.
But it wasn't long before he regretted his decision.
