Chapter 208: Chapter 208 Hard to Forgive_1

“Enough, how can crying change anything, can it cause us to return to the past?” Yun’s father was becoming impatient, feeling annoyed as he saw his wife shedding tears.

Yun’s mother wiped away her tears, finding it hard to accept the cold treatment from her son.

“Why don’t you apologize to them? Perhaps they may forgive you.” Although Yun’s father knew, it was easier said than done, even if accepted, things would never be the same.

Indeed, Yun’s mother ceased crying, looking towards Yun’s father, she questioned, “Really?”

Seeing her hopeful expression, Yun’s father hesitated and said, “Perhaps.”

Yet, he couldn’t help but think, if their roles were reversed, would he find it easy to forgive?

After all, what had happened was real.

Meng Yunhan was feeding Little Huzi, she was thinking, had her parents-in-law returned hurriedly because they heard news of their arrival, or had they been teased by others and returned out of embarrassment?

Regardless of the reason, she would forgive her parents-in-law if they apologized on behalf of Yun Hao. However, she would not take back what she had said.

For all of it was true, it was fact.

Traditionally, she had agreed to finance her father’s retirement while Yun Hao took on the role of son-in-law in her family. Whatever sum of money the elder brothers offered, she would match or surpass.

Having fed Little Huzi and changed his diaper, she put a clean one on him. She took the dirty one out to wash. With the weather being hot, it would dry quickly and be ready for use.

After doing the laundry, Meng Yunhan began to cook. Because of the hot weather, she decided to prepare a few vegetable dishes without using any eggs.

In all honesty, she had plenty of provisions, and one meal wasn’t a significant loss.

Still, she didn’t want to be accused of returning just for a good meal.

Although her parents-in-law wouldn’t say such things, her sisters-in-law certainly would. She knew them very well.

“Mom, Dad, it’s time for dinner.” Meng Yunhan had initially thought they’d eat in the cafeteria, so she only prepared a meal for two. When they returned, she went to the kitchen and made some pancakes.

She used only a minimal amount of oil and added some spring onions, to make spring onion pancakes.

After notifying everyone of dinner, Yun Hao sat down to eat with a gloomy expression.

After dinner, Meng Yunhan went to wash the dishes, leaving the three of them alone in the living room.

“Ahao… I… ” his mother began.

Yun Hao faced his mother resolutely. “Mom, you did nothing wrong. The only thing you did wrong was allowing me to marry my wife and then cause her to suffer with me.”

At his declaration, both his mother and father fell silent, stunned.

“Concerning my elder brothers, since they couldn’t convince their wives at the beginning, it shows that our brotherly bond is weak.”

Yun’s mother hastily replied, “Ahao, they are your brothers. You can’t just cut off ties with them over this minor issue.”

Yun Hao stared at his mother, “Mom, Little Huzi is my son.” He wouldn’t let anyone slander him.

His simple statement diminished his mother’s resistance, leaving her slumped weakly on the chair, her expression desolate.

Yun’s father sighed heavily, “Ahao, I understand you’ve sacrificed a lot for this family, helping your elder brothers. You’ve never wronged them in any way, but they’ve wronged you. No matter what you do, I won’t stand in your way. Your mother won’t admit her favoritism, but I know it exists. Over the years, her bias towards your elder brothers has been evident. They were always under her watch, while you were abroad most of the time, barely able to visit even once a year.”
