Chapter 564 Foreign will

Chapter 564 Foreign will

Chapter 564  Foreign will

The sky burned with a deep blue light as the spears tore through space, bending and twisting mid flight to seek out their target. But the entity merely raised its hand.

Every single spear stopped.

Alex could feel the Lux's shock — its disbelief. The enemy hadn't just halted the attack — it had taken control of the energy itself. With a sharp, calculated movement, the entity redirected the projectiles, sending them hurtling back to the Lux.

Explosions rippled through the battlefield. Lux soldiers, once invincible, were torn apart in a cascade of their own power. The Lux himself twisted through the onslaught, avoiding death by a hair's breadth, but the damage was already done.

They were losing.

A voice – deep and resonating with the space around it – reverberated through the mind of every Lux present, and consequently Alex's own.

"Today you fall."

That was it.

The Lux let out a roar of defiance, summoning every ounce of their energy force for one final, desperate strike. All of their bodies burned in the fury of their dwindling life force at this point.

They all lunged.

And then —

Alex woke up.

Gasping, his body trembled, drenched from head to toe in sweat. He clutched at his chest, feeling his own heartbeat pounding rapidly against his ribs. The memory was gone, but the sensation remained — the sheer terror, the overwhelming power, the bitter taste of defeat.

Brontes loomed over him, with his storm wrought form crackling with concern. The titanic beast had clearly sensed Alex's distress but could not interrupt the process.

Alex took a shaky breath, with his hands still tingling with residual energy from the absorption. His mind reeled at what he had just experienced. The Lux, who had conquered most of the Andromeda Galaxy already, had… lost?

'But considering this was a memory of the past, and the fact that I obtained this soul orb from that Lux himself, who had been very alive, it must mean that he had somehow survived the attack of that being, but how?'

But the memory was already over, so Alex wouldn't be getting any answers to his questions any time soon. The effects of the memory still remained fresh in his mind, and it would take his mind a while to process them, so he focused his attention elsewhere for the time being.

There was still one orb left to absorb.

The S tier orb.

Alex's lips curled into a grin, despite the lingering unease in his chest.

"Alright," he muttered, steadying himself. "Let's see what kind of nightmare this one has in store for me."

He inhaled sharply as the remnants of the King class orb's energy settled within him. His body still tingled from the influx of new power, but he didn't want to check any changes just yet. He wanted to wait until he'd absorbed the power of the S tier orb as well before doing that.

Brontes sat beside him, and even his massive frame, as a Divine class life form, seemed interested in the S tier orb in his hands. Alex took a deep breath and steadied his mind. Then, without hesitation, he grasped the S tier orb and began the absorption process.

The reaction was immediate.

The orb pulsed violently in his grasp, with the black hues swirling like a miniature supernova. A torrent of raw, unfiltered energy surged into Alex's body, far more potent than anything he had ever experienced before, even from that King class orb he'd just absorbed.

His muscles locked up, and his nerves ignited as if he'd been struck by a million volts of divine lightning. Every fibre of his being trembled under the sheer magnitude of the power he was attempting to assimilate. Unlike the King class orb, there were no visions, no lingering memories of the devil it had once belonged to.

Or so Alex thought.

Sure, there were no visions, no memories flooding into his mind. But the power – oh, the power was overwhelming. It felt like he was being reforged from the inside out, with his very essence being reshaped to accommodate the impossible strength contained within the orb.

But then something fundamentally changed.

The instant he felt the change, no matter how small or subtle it was, he knew something was wrong.

A foreign will surged through him, a presence so vast and malevolent that it made his previous experiences with soul orbs seem like child's play. It struck like a tidal wave, smashing into his consciousness with such force that Alex staggered, his breath catching in his throat. His vision darkened at the edges, and a deep, guttural whisper echoed through his mind.

'You dare to consume me!?'

The voice was familiar yet not, ancient yet young, layered with countless echoes, as if a chorus of demonic entities spoke in unison. This wasn't like any soul orb he had absorbed before — it was something more. It was alive, and it wanted control.

Alex gritted his teeth as his body spasmed involuntarily. His limbs burned with an agony he'd never felt before, and his nerves screamed in protest as an unseen force wrapped around his mind, tightening like a vice.

Brontes rumbled beside him, sensing the sudden shift in Alex's state. But there was nothing the Divine class beast could do to assist. The foreign will pressed harder, sinking its tendrils deeper into his psyche.

'You are weak! You are nothing!'

Alex snarled, clawing back at the encroaching will, but everything he tried seemed to be useless in front of the will's onslaught.

'Haha! I can finally be reborn again!'

The will rejoiced as it watched Alex slowly lose out against it in the mental battle of wills.

However once it broke through the last layer of defence Alex's soul had against it, it was stunned frozen.

There, an incomprehensible garbled mess of lines stood alone, looking like it was apart of some ancient language.

Alex, with the last whisps of his consciousness, didn't realise that this was the case, and could understand what the weird mess of lines meant.

'Soulforge.'

He blacked out.
