Chapter 515 Ascended Earth Affinity
Chapter 515 Ascended Earth Affinity
The System subtracted 1 million Potential Points and absorbed the Deity Earth Shard through William's hand as it initiated the upgrade. The Earthen environment was absorbed along with it, allowing the Quake Dungeon to regenerate and return to stone brick.
To kick off the upgrade William's arms and legs turned into the most basic form of stone slate, then chipped off in fragments and shattered on the floor. The Ascended Recovery Talent regenerated the damage the moment it happened, but growing new arms every few seconds was taxing on his lifespan, and he wanted to limit the damage as much as possible.
The Mana Lord Bonus Effect of his Mana Dominator Talent activated, allowing William to regain some control over the Earth Element while the upgrade continued. In a radius of twenty-five meters, William had around twenty percent authority, which was enough to offset most of the Earth Element's damage.
Of course, the Earth Mana that was transforming him needed to be channeled somewhere regardless, so William sent what he could out of his body and used the Mana to construct several stone Pillars.
The Magic Affinity was too unstable to use for anything productive, so he couldn't make tungsten walls or even iron, but William managed to compress the stone enough so that it was slightly stronger than slate, becoming a tough marble in semi-peak condition.
The reason why William did this was to conserve space. He could only control the Earth Mana near him, so once it exited that 25-meter bubble, William wouldn't be able to do anything else. Creating stronger materials naturally expended more Mana, lowering his chances of aging from the Recovery Talent's side effect.
Of course, in its current state William would need to suffer from two thousand years' worth of injuries before he actually aged by a single year. Who knew how many sets of arms he would regenerate before it counted as two thousand years' worth? Three thousand? Four thousand arms?
Several hours passed. By the four-hour mark, the twenty-five-meter space had been completely filled with marble, the only exception being William himself.
He had tried to use Earth Mana to destroy the marble, but it was still too difficult to conjure an attacking Spell while in this state. He ended up using Fire Magic instead, allowing him to free up enough area that let him continue creating marble.
At the eight-hour mark, the Earth Affinity's upgrade started to slow down, and half an hour later the System Notification confirmed that his Affinity was now Ascended. William didn't hesitate to scroll through the notifications and read what had changed.

More than four times improvement to the Element itself, my Domain is ten times stronger, AND my Territory can create better materials?! This is an insane upgrade! William was overwhelmed with joy.
Incidents like this were exactly what made William appreciate Common Talents. They were generally cheap to upgrade, had simple applications that were easy to understand, and weren't overly weak.
Sure, the Order Affinity was one of his strongest Elements alongside Fate and Karma, but how often was William actually able to use them? They were each so rare that the number of Cultivators with an Affinity for them could be counted on one hand in any given region.
Using them was too conspicuous and so was using too many different Elements. Fire and Earth Magic hadn't failed him yet; he just needed to get better at using them.
Since I'm mostly known for using the Earth and Space Elements in this Plane, it shouldn't hurt to upgrade this as far as it can go. William decided as he instantly upgraded the Ascended Earth Affinity to E-Rank.
A small price of one Ascended Point was spent, and in return William's Earth Element became twice as strong in nearly every aspect. He spent another five Ascended Points on the D-Rank upgrade, which left him at 21 Ascended Points remaining.
Just four more Ascended Points, and William could push the Earth Element to Ascended C-Rank! He looked at the new statistics, compressing down everything that was unchanged so he could get back to looting as soon as possible.

My Earth Element went up from 12.8 times to 200 times in a few hours... It's not just power, either! William excitedly gathered Mana from the Greater Mana Points in his thumb, channeling it into the usual four Comet Pellets he would use on the Sunny Pebblets from the lower floors.
Instead of each Comet Pellet being the size of a fist, they truly matched the original description of his Spell. Each Pellet was barely the size of his index fingertip, only about as wide in diameter as the length of his nails. If one didn't look closely, these balls of earth might look like Pills!
But the intense Mana stored within them was enough to make the 20th floor of the Quake Dungeon shake wildly. If anyone else was standing within close proximity to William, they probably would have fallen to the floor from the intense vibrations.
William moved his hand left and right, the Comet Pellets obediently remaining in his grasp while the tremors spread down to the 19th and 18th floors. Their composition became slightly unstable from the movement, but it wasn't nearly enough for William to lose control of his Spell.
Feeling that he wouldn't be satisfied until he saw some damage, William fired off the Comet Pellets towards the back wall of the room. Surprisingly, the Comet Pellets were slightly slower than the Stormlight Blink Fusion Spell, but the same couldn't be said about their power.
"Boom!" the four Pellets landed in separate areas of the wall, piercing through it like a bullet through cake and sending shards of stone brick flying. The Comet Pellets embedded themselves several hundred meters into the wall, only stopped by a set of hidden Arrays that far exceeded William's imagination.
Were they Tier 8 Arrays? Tier 9? William didn't know, but they were definitely not Tier 7. He checked his Mana expenditure, finding that barely a thousand Mana went into that single attack. With his Mana Dominator Talent, William could regenerate much more than that amount even while in combat.
A cheap Spell with attack power like that? Can I fight a Deity Realm Magical Beast now? William wondered. It was hard to tell when the Cultivation Talent's Bonus Effect was useless. He still didn't know what levels the creatures he just killed were at.
The Treasure Mimics might even be in the Deity Realm, but William wouldn't know for sure unless he spent several Ascended Points to ask the System, which he found to be a waste.
William was very impressed with his new Earth Element's offensive strength, but he knew that this wasn't its specialty. What the Earth Element was truly good at was defense! On his first attempt, William built up several Earth Walls made of tungsten flawlessly, finding the task absurdly simple.
It was so simple that he felt like tungsten was actually a pretty weak material, which made William wonder what else he could make.
Granite is pretty weak, but what about Ascended Granite? How strong is Ascended Granite compared to regular tungsten? William decided to try without using the Territory of Earth.
The Territory of Earth could create Ascended materials right when he Ascended the Earth Affinity, but he had already upgraded it twice. If it was already possible then, could he do the same without using his Territory?
