Chapter 485 Solar Nectar (2)
Chapter 485 Solar Nectar (2)
Your next journey awaits at empire
It's too fast! I can't completely dodge it! William panicked as he enabled his Forcefield Talent and allowed it to envelop his body. He channeled Earth Mana to his forehead, creating a thick armor that would hopefully deal with some of the impact.
Dong! An almost metallic reverberation spread throughout the Boss arena as the brown ball collided with William's forcefield. In the distance, the Sun Stone Golem lowered a smoking fist and its unibrow rose in surprise as if evaluating William's Forcefield that looked similar to its own.
The Forcefield cracked, but the brown ball wasn't done moving forward. It rotated at high speeds the exact same way that William's Meteor Drill Shower was created, taking advantage of the cracks to maintain its position.
The ball followed the path of least resistance, forcing its way through a tiny hole made by its attempts. It embedded itself within William's armored forehead, continuing to heat up until a bright flash completely blinded William.
His body was thrown back dozens of meters until he crashed into the back wall, half of his forehead missing while the other half had exposed bones covered in blood. A small portion of William's brain was sticking out, but the Recovery Talent kicked in and started mending the damage immediately.
Another brown ball sped in William's direction, partially countered by a newly regenerated Forcefield while the rest of the damage William took head-on. His eyes grew heavy as the effects of the Recovery Talent aged him by four years, an overwhelming amount of fatigue keeping William from standing up.
The last thing he saw before his eyes closed was the Sun Stone Golem's bulky figure as it casually strode towards William's body. Despite the effects of all his Talents, William promptly passed out.

In the early portion of the fourteenth floor, most of the third-year students had spread out and were exploring separate areas.
One group of three in particular was holding onto a special Earth Elemental Artifact that allowed them to detect a few of the common hidden rooms unique to the Quake Dungeon. With the Artifact's help, the group had already discovered two treasure chests that had even evaded William's Navigation Radar's detection.
Of course, the Artifact was useless at finding other types of rooms that Navigation would have no issues discovering, but that wouldn't make a large difference considering the sheer size of each individual floor.
The students were just about to explore deeper into the fourteenth floor when a rumbling shook the entire fourteenth floor. Sand and dirt dropped from the ceiling while the students lost their balance, reaching out to each other for support.
"What the hell was that!" a male student looked above him with a mixture of anxiety and fear. The shaking reminded him of a spider-type Magical Beast that appeared in the Filem Academy's Dimensional Dungeon, which gave him the creeps.
"It's coming from the floor above us! Did someone already find the stairs?!" someone else pointed out, much to the surprise of their companions.
"How long has it been? Can anyone really find the next floor in less than two hours?" the first boy replied with a nervous laugh. He continued to scan the ceiling for any type of weird bugs that could crawl out from the tiniest of cracks.
"Who knows. If they did, we need to hurry. My grandfather said a special Earth treasure is on the 20th floor, and it will disappear in three months." the only girl of the group said while slinging a backpack full of items over her shoulder.
She was both the leader of the group and the luggage person, since her bag could hold over fifty times as much storage as the usual Space Ring. Other than that, she was from one of the top three branches of the Slightveil Family, meaning she had almost unlimited resources and treasures.
That being said, this Earth Elemental treasure that her grandfather spoke of was something that even the Slightveil Family couldn't provide on a regular basis. If she couldn't get it for herself now, she probably wouldn't have a chance later on.
"Yes Boss!" the two boys replied in unison as they exited the treasure room with their leader.

William was jolted awake roughly ten minutes later by a pounding headache that made him wish for ten grams of pain medication. When he opened his eyes to check the surroundings, he instantly discovered the source of his headache.
He reached out and caught one of the Sun Stone Golem's large fists with his bare hand, using the Strength aspect of his Fitness Talent to resist its most recent punch. Throughout his unconsciousness, William guessed that the Sun Stone Golem had been rotating between punching him with its right and its left fist.
He checked his Status while the Sun Stone Golem struggled to force its fist forward.

My age advanced by 24 years... that's the most I've gained in a long time, but it's still nothing compared to my total lifespan. William commented inwardly.
As he scrolled through his Status, William realized that he hadn't suffered very much at all in the time since he went unconscious. It seemed that despite the Sun Stone Golem's Cultivation being an entire Realm above his, its lacking damage output prevented it from causing him any serious harm.
William retraced his memories to just before he was knocked out. What were those two brown balls? Was it another ability of the Sun Stone Golem? It triggered right after the second joint was destroyed for the first time, so William guessed that it had to be so.
He looked up at the Sun Stone Golem, finding that the joint of its other leg was completely black now, despite that he had only destroyed the joint one time.
If it had access to that brown ball attack from the beginning, or if it was able to use it constantly, I'd probably be in pretty rough condition right now. It must take a lot of energy to use. Did it exhaust its own Solar Nectar to attack me?
William had many questions, but he didn't have time to answer them all. He thought of checking the Bestiary for information, but the System notified him that detailed information on the Sun Stone Golem would only be available after enough encounters.
What he was able to see at the current moment wasn't much different from what he already knew, so William closed the Bestiary and focused on the current battle.
He stood up while continuing to hold the Sun Stone Golem's fist back, then performed a light Spatial Steps to boost his momentum and force the Boss creature backwards. Next, he pulled back his arm for two seconds to increase the damage of his next attack, then used Spatial Steps again and threw his fist into the enemy's forcefield.
