“You’re celebrating your anniversary, why rent the whole place? Got too much time on your hands?” he said begrudgingly.
Huo Yanzhao glanced at him sideways: “We don’t like crowds!”
After saying this, he turned his gaze towards Su Zixi, his smile warm and friendly: “Isn’t this Xuefei’s junior from school? In honor of the junior, I’ll let you join us.”
The last sentence was directed towards He Jingyao.
Su Zixi’s eyes lit up: “Is Xuefei inside?”
“Yeah. She just found out yesterday that you were whisked away by this heartless Jingyao, and even said she wanted to see you to warn you to be careful,” Huo Yanzhao spoke while giving He Jingyao a malevolent look.
He Jingyao gave a cold laugh, wrapping his arms around Su Zixi’s waist: “Let’s go somewhere else.”
“Don’t!” Su Zixi quickly grabbed his wrist, gazing at him pleadingly, “I want to see Xuefei.”
“There will be plenty of opportunities later,” He Jingyao suppressed his discontent and said with a smile, “Today I just wanted to have a simple lunch with you.”
Su Zixi momentarily lost for words, looked at Huo Yanzhao who seemed at ease, then at the sincere-faced He Jingyao, unable to decide.
“Come on Jingyao, don’t be so petty,” Huo Yanzhao said hopelessly, rubbing his forehead, “Let’s go, I just happen to have some business to discuss with you. We’ll open another private room, allowing your sister-in-law and Xuefei some private time to talk.”
“Aren’t you celebrating your anniversary?” He Jingyao gave him a cold look.
Huo Yanzhao’s face broke into a grin: “Sorry, Xuefei and I are close. We don’t care about these formalities. Every day for us is like a honeymoon anyway.”
