Chapter 63 Within Her Thought

[Kimberly And Emma Before Ken Approached Them]

"Why did you make us come this early? And what am I even here with you…?" Emma asked Kimberly, as they stood opposite the restaurant.

"I don't want to be alone…" Kimberly replied. "…and you said you wanted to see who the mysterious man is. Or did you forget?"

Emma turned her face away from Kimberly for a moment, as though she was feeling embarrassed of hearing her own words hunt here.

"It is true I did want to see who he was," Emma uttered, while she turned back to face Kimberly. "…but that doesn't mean I wanted to come to your date. I mean, when he shows up where would I be?"

Kimberly looked at Emma, and gave her an expression that says .

Emma saw this expression and frowned at her. However she didn't get upset about it.

"Even still I want you to stay with me just for a little while," Kimberly responded. "…at least until he gets here. And after that you can stay at a any place, or you could just go home."

Kimberly gave her a serious expression that meant she was indeed serious.

Emma sighed and took Kimberly's hands before uttering, "I would stay with you until hr comes, after all I can't just leave you like this, with all these people staring at you."

Emma looked around and saw all eyes on them. Both the people that were walking on the road, and those that were on their business. They all stared at both of them.

Although, the one who captivated their attention more was… Kimberly. With the tight brown gown she wore, that brought out her curves.

There was no way that people would pass and not stare. Both male and female alike.

Emma saw that Kimberly was uncomfortable about this, so she decided that she would stay with her until Ken arrived.

"First of all… you shouldn't have insisted on coming this early in the first place…?" Emma proclaimed. "…you should have just waited for the time to pass a little and then you would arrive a little late. I mean, isn't that how they do it in the movies?"

Emma was direct and simple. She wasn't actually disturbed that they arrived late, however she was more worried about Kimberly instead.

"And second, we should have just waited inside someplace or something. I mean the restaurant is just right there…" She pointed as she said.

At this moment, Emma was facing Kimberly, which made her see the road clearly, While on the other hand, Kimberly was facing her, as shewas backing the road, so she couldn't see it.

"I thought about staying in a place," Kimberly explained. "…but I wanted to see him when he first arrives and I also wanted to show that I am a punctual lady." She concluded.

And Emma was like, with a puzzled expression she uttered. "I feel like I don't know you anymore. For the past eight years I have been with you as a friend. And I haven't ever seen you talk about a guy like this…not for once."

Emma had a serious facial expression of curiosity and interest. She wanted to know what had become of her friend… Kimberly.

She knew that Kimberly wasn't always like this. However, since she met Ken, it was like her whole existence had changed.

While Emma as staring at Kimberly with that curious expression. Kimberly responded.

While Kimberly was explaining all that happened to her during the past years, Emma noticed a vehicle stopped in front of them and immediately a young man walked out of the vehicle.

He wore a black trouser and a silver top. On the top was a black jean jacket, which had a lot zips around it. And on his feet was a black canvas.

She saw, as the guy began to look around and after sometime he stared right at her. 'Is he looking at me…?' Emma thought.

The young man stood for a while, as if he was waiting or thinking about something while staring at her.

'He's definitely staring at me.' Emma confirmed.

At the moment, the young man began to walk towards their direction as his jet black hair danced with the flow of the wind.

'Who is this young fellow,' She thought. She immediately noticed that he was actually walking towards them, and immediately…

"I also think that…—" While Kimberly was still going on about her past life and her relationships with men, Emma…

"Shush…Shush…Shush…! Someone is approaching us…" Emma uttered, while she braced herself and Kimberly for the man approaching then.

Immediately, Kimberly turned and saw Ken standing right behind her and then she uttered.

"…you mean this is the Ken you have never stopped taking about?" She asked.

Emma was stunned to see the handsome guy standing right next to her them. She couldn't believe that the person that her long time friend had been talking about, was this handsome.

"Y-Yes…?" Kimberly replied, puzzled by the way Emma reacted. "…is there a problem?" She asked.

"My name is Emma, I am Kimberly's long time best friend. I have heard so much about you. Although… she never told me that you were this… handsome."

Upon hearing this, Ken turned his face away and smiled, as Kimberly did the same thing.

They were both blushing.

Emma saw this and thought to herself. 'Just that made him blush?' She looked at Kimberly, and to her surpris. She saw that Kimberly was also blushing.

And then another thought came to her mind. 'They act just the same.'

"So where are we heading to…?" Ken asked, while she faced Kimberly.

"I don't want us to use this restaurant today," Kimberly responded. "…I have a better idea in mind."

"Oh…? And where will that be?" Ken asked, while she stared deeply into her eyes.

Kimberly noticed this and shifted her eyes from his. She couldn't take it head on. It was like she was looking down into her soul.

"I was thinking of going to this new place called Date nation that just opened. I hear the place is good for any kind of dates." Kimberly explained.

And Ken was like, "Is that why they named it Date Nation? They could have named it anything but that. It sounds so childish."

Kimberly looked at him and this time she didn't take her face away, and then she responded.

"I think that's what they just want to name it for now since it's still new. They might change it later. At least that's what I think."

"But still I heard it was a good place, and so I have long to go there.

While Ken heard this, and a smile unfolded on his face, then he uttered.

"There is always that new place you always want to go… isn't it?" He teased.

Upon hearing this, Kimberly gave a big smile on her face, while she hit him of his shoulder before uttering. "It's not always like that."

Meanwhile, while as this was happening, Emma saw the way Kimberly was laughing and smiling while talking with Ken.

This was the very first time she had seen her like this with a guy before.

She felt so distant as she witnessed her friend talk to a man with such ease and so much comfort.

And with this, a feeling began to rise within her.

'What is this…?' She thought, as she squeezed her chest with both hands.

Was it an emotion of happiness for her friend, or… Jealousy?

She couldn't tell.
