Chapter 1202 Part 1: Head Howard's task

The following day,

When I entered the Special Mage Department, I was quickly summoned by Elder Paul Lin. I immediately knew something was up. He wouldn't ask me to come without any reason.

About a few minutes later, I arrived at his cabin.

I opened the door to enter. When I walked inside, I saw him sitting behind the desk, but his expression was not good. I closed the door and sat opposite him.

Paul Lin raised his head. He looked into Vincent's eyes before saying, "I don't know whether to call it good luck or bad luck. Head Howard has assigned a secret mission for you."

Hearing that, my heart skipped a beat. I had a bad feeling that it was something to do with the Anderson Family.

Wizards from the Bloodline Beast Department were already stalking me. If they were really behind Head Howard, then why did they have time to stalk me?

"Vincent?" Paul called out.

"Head Howard wants you to infiltrate the Anderson Family territory to find the location of the captured wizards," Paul Lin said with expectation in his eyes.

"Elder, it's impossible to do it. It's a suicide mission," I said with anger. It seemed I had shocked everyone with my intel gathering talent. It's backfiring on me right now.

Paul Lin wasn't surprised because everyone expected this response. Asking a level-6 Wizard to take on this dangerous mission is not a joke. He would have felt something amiss if Vincent accepted the mission right away.

"Head Howard discussed the mission with Elder Stella and me earlier. He was impressed by your previous mission. Even Elder Stella thinks that only you can complete this mission."

"I know we are asking you too much, but we know what you want. Head Howard asked me to convey this to you: if you are able to complete this mission..."

"Then he will personally go and collect Gravity Magic-related resources," Paul Lin said in a serious tone.

"Head Howard will personally collect Gravity Magic resources," I muttered.

"Yes, it's true. We know it's too much to ask you. Head Howard knows that the Mage Union supports you. He wouldn't ask you to take on this for no reason," Paul Lin said.

"Think carefully. Head Howard is a Mage Lord. He has many connections and knows many influential people from different countries," he added.

"Alright, I will do it," I replied with a heavy expression on my face. If Head Howard helps me, then I will grow faster and graduate from this organization before the end of the 4th year.

Then I thought of something before asking, "Then who will send me there? I don't think it's safe to travel on an airship."

"Ha... Ha... Ha..., you don't have to worry. Head Howard will personally take you there. He has been visiting the Anderson Family very often."

"No one is going to suspect him," Paul Lin said.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. It seemed everything was pre-planned. Before I could ask further, he said, "If you are ready, I'll inform Elder Stella."

I nodded to him.

Elder Paul Lin informed Elder Stella in front of me. She would call Head Howard directly.

Shortly afterward,

Elder Paul Lin received a call back from Elder Stella. He spoke for a few minutes before ending the call.

He said, "Head Howard will take you there in the evening, so it will help you hide from unwanted people."

"Good," I replied.

Head Howard was thoughtful. It's not easy to do a mission in broad daylight. Then I stood up from the seat to leave.

"Elder, I'm going back to the dorm. Call me before Head arrives," I said.

"Okay, I will look for life-saving items in the meantime," Paul Lin said.

Then I left his cabin and headed straight toward the exit.

After leaving the Special Mage Department, I quickly returned to the dorm building.
