Chapter 1175 Ancient Battlefield

Seeing the confident face of me. Paul sighed inwardly. He could tell that Head Howard had made up his mind. No one can convince him.

"I hope we don't have to carry this burden," Owen said mockingly. Which was heard by everyone. Including the Female Wizards.

Everyone knows who is weakest among them. Apart from Maddie, the other three female wizards are weaker.

They thought Owen's words were directed at them. The girls exchanged looks. Their eyes flash with anger.

Even their Department Elders didn't like his tone much.

"I think you don't need to worry about us. I'll take care of them," Maddie uttered in an icy, chill tone.

"Thank you, sister Maddie," Alexa thanked her immediately.

Hearing that Maisy and April thanked her as well.

So, the face of Owen changes drastically.

"Owen, I think they have misunderstood your words," Lenny replied with a wry smile on his face. He knows Owen's words are meant for the newbie, not the girls.

"Wait, I didn't mean for you," Owen tried to explain, but he received a death glare from Maddie.

Owen's expression darkens. He then turns around to mind his own business. But he couldn't help but curse at the newbie inwardly.

"Elder Alfie, I doubt your student will make it out unscathed," Council Elder Ruth said in an emotionless tone.

"He...He...He..., Eldes Ruth, stop taking the fights of youngsters seriously," Alfie said with a smiling face. Others don't know whether he meant seriously or not.

A 20 minutes later,

The Black Aircraft halted mid-air. They have already left the territory of the human population. Now they are in neutral territory where the ancient battlefield is located.

Head Howard looks at everyone before saying, "Alright, everyone. We have arrived."

Hearing that the young wizards showed complex emotions. But they had no choice other than to do this mission.

The Black Aircraft then landed on the ground.

Creak!

The door opens automatically. The next second, the council elders start to walk out one by one. Followed by the young wizards.

When everyone exited the aircraft. Head Howard takes back the aircraft into his storage bracelet.

"What's this place?" I said in my heart. I felt an eerie feeling from the surroundings. There is no vegetation in this place. It's a completely vast, barren land. I couldn't see the end of it.

"Alright, elders, take your students with you and follow me," Howard said.

He then appears in the sky and moves forward at a steady pace.

The next second, everyone followed suit. Council Elder Walter and three young earth elemental wizards started following the head.

Then, one by one, others appeared.

"Let's go," Paul Lin said to me.

I nodded to him. Then I used the flight ability to walk in the air. Then, we both followed behind the others.

But not long after, the environment changed. The absolute clear sky becomes dark. The surroundings were covered with a mix of red and dark smog.

"We have arrived at the entrance of the abandoned battlefield," Paul Lin said in a grim tone.

Hearing that, my eyes flash with a sharp glint. To think the environment was harmless a couple of minutes ago. It was deceiving. No wonder no grass and roots were seen growing on this vast land.

Time passed,

Head Howard led everyone deep inside the ancient battlefield. The environment becomes even more harsher. The air itself is burning. The mana particles in the surroundings were hot.

It's most suitable for the fire-type wizards. As this thought arose, I turned to look at the two Fire Mages. They weren't showing any happy expressions.

Rather their expression was tense. They are constantly looking at the ground. Seeing that I followed their gaze as well.

Ground is cracked, smoke is coming out from the gaps. The smoke is giving us ominous feelings.

"What's this phenomenon?" I asked out of curiosity.

Council Elder Paul Lin heard the question.

He replied, "The terrain changed because of the ancient wars. Now the whole place is volatile and poisonous."

"It's dangerous to walk on the ground. The ground beneath your feet could explode at any time. That's why no one comes here. Including the high-level wizards," Paul Lin carefully explained.

Hearing that I realised the seriousness of the issue. No wonder the 2 Fire Mages are looking tense. This place is really dangerous for wizards.

Only wizards with flight ability or flying-type magic can survive this place.

About 30 minutes later,

Head Howard stopped everyone. He turned around and looked at the drained faces of the young wizards. Everyone is already sweating.

Seeing that, he sighed inwardly. But it can't be helped. The newly discovered secret land might be a treasure trove. It can solve the resource problem for the True Elements Society.

"Listen, everyone, the secret land entrance is a few metres ahead of me," Howard said.

Hearing that, everyone looked ahead, but they could see only dark and red smog.

The Council Elders became serious. Elder Stella, Ruth and Annie stood together. They could feel the fluctuations coming from ahead.

Elder Alfie's eyes squinted. He has been trying to send a message to the Aristocratic Elders. But whenever he tries he finds the gaze of Head Howard on him.

He fears that Head Howard has seen through his thoughts. So, he suppressed the idea and decided to wait and watch.

Council Elder Walter is advising the three earth elemental wizards. The ancient battlefield is quite a disadvantage to them. They could find themselves in danger once inside the secret land.

Because there is a possibility for the same environment to be found inside the secret land.

"I have ten magic bracelets with me. The bracelets will react in response to life-threatening situations. If such a thing happens, I will use my power to open a temporary space crack to bring you guys back."

"So don't worry about your safety. Instead focus on exploring the new land. Later, I want every information about this new secret land," Howard said in a serious tone.
