Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1146 Stella, the Level-9 Hypno Wizard

Chapter 1146 Stella, the Level-9 Hypno Wizard

From the MC's Perspective:

I'm inside the Lecture Hall, looking in Dimitry's direction. Dimitry appears abnormal and unstable. I suspect something must have happened while I was outside, so I waited for the class to end.

Meanwhile, Paul Lin is standing in front of the Star Light Magic Palace. After waiting for 20 minutes with no response from inside, he assumes Elder Phylia must be busy.

With no other choice, he decides to address the matter himself. Just as he turns to leave, the massive gate automatically creaks open.

Paul stops in his tracks, relief flashing across his eyes. Once the gate is fully open, he walks inside and heads towards the meeting hall. When he arrives, he sees Elder Phylia waiting for him.

"What happened?" she asks.

"I told you not to disturb me unnecessarily," Phylia admonishes, causing Paul's heart to skip a beat. He quickly replies, "Elder, there is indeed something important."

Phylia raises her eyebrows in surprise. "What is it?" she inquires.

Paul explains, "Elder, it's about Vincent Carey. He..." He begins to describe the mission he had assigned to Vincent and the results.

A few minutes later, Phylia's eyes flash with interest. "What's his level?" she asks.

"He is a Level-6 Wizard," Paul responds. Phylia is genuinely surprised that this kid managed to escape from an inhuman wizard, highlighting Vincent's talent and potential.

"No wonder the Mage Union is optimistic about him," she murmurs to herself. Then, turning to Paul Lin, she asks, "So, what's bothering you?"

"Elder, Vincent's statement is a bit hard to believe. He possesses Sub-Taboo Gravity Magic, which seems unrelated to intelligence collection capability," Paul explains.

"The council elders will surely look into this. Already, the Aristocratic Families are causing problems. These Families have their representatives among the council elders, and they could use this opportunity to cause trouble for him," Paul adds.

"Geniuses selected by the Mage Union are not ordinary. He must have his secrets. Here's what we'll do," Phylia says, pulling out a grey mask from her storage bracelet. "I have many collections, but most are useless at my current level. This grey mask is one of them. It can block the attention of all Magic Level-8 and below."

"Give this to the kid. If he asks about the mask, tell him I provided it," Phylia instructs with a smile.

"This..." Paul is taken aback. The Grey Mask is a Grade-8 Magic Artifact—one of the rarest masks that can erase a person's presence.

Your next chapter awaits on empire

Paul accepts the mask, and his worries ease knowing he can include it in the report for the Council Elders.

"Tell that kid to study without any worries. If there's any trouble again, feel free to contact me," she says, revealing her selfish motive. She wants to stay in the good graces of the Mage Union, as the Aristocratic Families pose no threat to her. With that, she gestures for him to leave.

Paul exits and returns to the Floating Building.

"I can see that the True Elements Society won't be peaceful. Let's see what that kid can do in the coming days," she muses to herself before vanishing from the spot.

Intelligence Tower:

Inside one of the high tower buildings, the Elders responsible for the Intelligence Department are handling reports. However, the news from Verdant City has caused them considerable concern.

The current head is Stella, a Level-9 Hypno Wizard. Though she appears middle-aged, her real age is much older. With brown hair and eyes, her tan skin and tall stature make her stand out as she wears the True Elements Society black uniform adorned with the intelligence department crest.

Stella furrows her brow and asks, "Has anything come up regarding Verdant City?"

The Elders are responsible for collecting information from Verdant City, shaking their heads. Stella's frown deepens; a high-level hostile wizard is roaming in their territory, and they have no clues about it. They have dispatched an investigation team filled with Wizards capable of tracking scents and gathering intelligence. Nothing should escape their notice.

"One of the Elders mentions," Elder, I noticed that someone from the Special Mage Department has taken a mission to gather clues related to a foreign organ."

"And who is that?" Stella inquires.

"It's a newcomer from the Special Mage Department named Vincent Carey, Level-6 Sub-Taboo Gravity Wizard," a slender-looking elder replies.

Stella fell into deep thought as her gaze drifted to the massive holographic blue screen set in the center of a large wooden table. The screen displayed the latest information.

"Show me his recent activities," Stella instructed after considering her options. She didn't have high hopes for the newcomer, but she wanted to ensure she didn't miss any details that could lead to a wrong judgment.

After the slender-looking elder began operating the panel, Vincent Carey's profile appeared on the screen. Underneath his name, a list of his recent activities was displayed chronologically.

If Vincent were present, he would likely be surprised to see footage of himself entering the restaurant in the Main City and later exiting it to find it abandoned. The footage also included scenes of the Perry Family Butler entering the restaurant and intimidating the customers.

This footage had been captured from a distance using advanced technological devices installed in key and secluded locations. Even powerful advanced-level wizards would struggle to detect them.

The most recent footage showed Vincent Carey walking on the streets near the Main Market. Stella's attention lingered on this particular clip.

"When was this footage taken?" she inquired.

The elder operated the panel again to retrieve details. "The footage was captured yesterday, one hour before the murder occurred," he replied.

This revelation immediately captured everyone's attention. No one had expected a freshman to wander so close to danger; this mission was typically reserved for seasoned professionals.

Stella stood with her arms crossed, her thoughts unreadable. She then asked, "What is the mission status?"

The screen displayed the mission status as still active, with no reports or preliminary findings.

"He must have entered the Main Market," one of the elders suggested.

"Head, you should interrogate the kid to see if he's hiding anything," advised a middle-aged elder.

Everyone turned their attention to him. Those familiar with the surrounding rumors quickly understood the implications.

"What do you think, Elder Vance?" Stella asked.

The speaker was none other than Vance Perry, a member of the Aristocratic Family that was specifically targeting Vincent Carey. Those aware of the situation opted to remain silent.

"Head, I suspect something is off with this kid. Instead of focusing on the mission, he's attending lectures," Vance remarked.

A heavy silence filled the room.

Stella was unaware of Vance Perry's true intentions. Usually, she didn't concern herself with the minor machinations of factions unless they posed a threat to the organization.

"Alright, you can go and bring him here," Stella instructed.

"Don't worry, Elder. I'll retrieve that kid. We'll find some clues," Vance said before leaving.

Once outside the high tower building, a murderous glint flashed in his eyes. An unexpected opportunity had arisen to eliminate a perceived nobody.

He knew that the head of the intelligence department was Mind Wizard, recognized for her ability to gather information from formidable enemies and dark wizards.

Deep down, he was aware that once the Head used her magic on the kid, the truth could come to light.

However, he felt secure as long as his continuous accusations were made; the Family backing him might seize the opportunity to make Vincent the real culprit, potentially leading to his expulsion from the organization.

Meanwhile, after the lecture ended, I was summoned again by Elder Paul. Upon my arrival, I found him waiting for me.

"Elder Paul, what's going on?" I asked.

"Come, take a seat. I have something important to discuss with you," Paul replied.

I sat down across from him and noticed he placed a mask on the desk.

Using the system function, I inspected the mask, and the results immediately appeared on the screen in front of me.

"Grade-8, Stealth Artifact," I thought to myself.

"You must be wondering what this is about," Paul Lin said.

I nodded.

Sighing, Paul continued, "You know your mission report was too incredible to be believed. The Council Elders will question it. How could a Magic Level-6 Wizard escape after witnessing a murder?"

"I reported this to Supreme Wizard Phylia. She asked me to give this to you. You can include it in your statement. It's a Level-8 Stealth Mask that can conceal the user's presence. No one below Level-8 can detect it. She also expressed that she is looking forward to your progress," Paul Lin added.

My heart stirred with emotions I didn't anticipate. I never expected such a strong presence to take an interest in me. And she is not just any elder; she is a Supreme Wizard. I had been seeking a mentor or supporter, and she could be an excellent choice.

If her words hold true, I must ensure I do not let her down. With her support, I would be able to navigate this place with confidence.
