Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 501 Aiming for the Lord Tier ( 2 )

Chapter 501 Aiming for the Lord Tier ( 2 )

The team quickly moved into formation. This time, Lysandra and Kale took the front… With their weapons, they cleaved through the wave of creatures…

With their Epic-Grade weapons, there was no way for these Zombies to survive. Although the Infants were quick, they were not that much of a threat at all.

Vernon, on the other hand, was beside Nia as he fired enchanted arrows that exploded with bursts of light, thinning the swarm.

It wasn't a special arrow but it was a special crossbow…

Shane then picked off stragglers with his flying Silver Dagger while Nia maintained a protective thorn barrier to prevent any from breaching their line.

Well, it was their classic strategy…

Though the numbers were overwhelming, the team's coordination made short work of the creatures.

As the last Infant Zombie fell, Shane surveyed the room and was satisfied.

"They were just a warm-up," He reminded

After they rested for a bit and checked their gears, Shane urged the group to continue moving up.

"Let's keep moving."

Up until now, he didn't have a chance to showcase his new abilities but it was normal… He wanted to let everyone else deal with these weaker Zombies since he would insist on fighting the Lord-Tier Zombie alone later on.

The second floor was completely different from the first.

At the very least, it smelled worse…

The walls were smeared with blood and innards, and it was really rotten...

"Not good… This feels like a Toxic Den or something." Lysandra muttered as she felt that the stench was some kind of poison.

Thankfully, Shane provided them with a protection token that could help them defend against it even for a bit.

Of course, Shane also brought out some masks for everyone, items he purchased in the Survivor Store.

The floor had soon vibrated under the weight of the advancing Zombies.

A deep growl rang out through the space… It was then followed by more sounds of heavy footsteps.

"Tyrant Zombies… But smaller ones?" Lysandra thought.

Tyrant Zombies were normally four to five meters tall but the ones in front of them were just two meters tall.

They were still taller than them but not as intimidating as normal Tyrant Zombies they'd encounter.

Curious, Shane used his Telekinesis and controlled one of his Silver Dagger…

Then, he coated it with his Aura and spun it for a few seconds… After doing all of that, he threw the dagger…

Thud!

Just like that, Shane killed one of the Zombies.

[ You have eliminated a Junior Brawler Zombie. ]

"It's not a Tyrant Zombie… They're Junior Brawler. Based on its resistance, it must be weaker than Tyrant." Shane said.

Everyone heaved a sigh of relief after hearing this. After all, there were over 30 of them right now. If they're Tyrant Zombies, it would definitely be a harder battle.

Nonetheless, these Junior Brawlers were still intimidating. They were buffed up with almost black muscles and thick, leathery skin.

They also seemed quite terrifying as they weren't just growling at them.

Instead, these Zombies seemed to be smiling at them!

It was such a creepy sight!

"Take them down quickly!" Lysandra shouted as she dodged the massive swing from one of the creatures.

Kale met the charge head-on…

Thud!

His warhammer collided with the Tyrant's arm in a bone-shattering blow. Vernon fired arrows aimed at their legs, slowing their movements, while Lysandra's sword found the weak spots in their thick hides.

Nia, standing farther back, supported the team while controlling her vines. Shane also assisted while using her Silver Dagger through his Telekinesis…

The battle here was more intense than the first floor but everything was still under control. The Junior Brawlers may have incredible physiques and fast hand movements, but they were unable to penetrate their high-level armors.

Soon, Shane's team emerged victorious. They weren't injured but they certainly spent a lot of Spirit Points during the battle.

"Recover first…" Shane said as he gave them some Spirit Stones. With their Spirit Stone mines, Shane was no longer worried about his supply. In his mind, they're a lot cheaper or cost-effective compared to buying Spirit Recovery Pills in the market.

"They're getting stronger," Lysandra remarked as she accepted the Spirit Stone.

"That's good…" Shane said with a small smile. "It means we're heading in the right direction."

After that, they continued to the higher floor.

The third floor had narrow hallways and broken doors. It would be a lot more difficult to move so they had to move in file with Kale in front.

Well, he was the best meatshield. In Shane's opinion, as long as Kale was quiet with Tier 5 Armors, he wouldn't be defeated by Giant Zombie's smash and might even topple it over.

Soon, the faint sound of skittering claws echoed through the space, alarming Lysandra and the others…

"Crawlers?" She guessed.

However, the one that had arrived was different. Licker Zombies leaped from the ceiling instead!

Their tongue lashed out like a whip aiming at Kale!

Kale frowned at the slimy tongue as he decided to jump and dodge it instead of blocking the attack.

He barely managed to block the attack and countered with a slash of his warhammer that severed the creature's tongue. The finishing blow that followed was a lot easier to make after the Zombie fell down.

[ You have eliminated a Licker Zombie. ]

Soon, more Licker Zombies approached them.

"These things are fast!" Vernon shouted, firing at another Licker that darted between walls.

The Licker Zombies proved to be cunning, using the environment to their advantage.

Vernon's arrows illuminated the dark corridors, allowing the team to spot the creatures before they could strike.

Vernon's reflexes were put to the test as he blocked and countered their rapid attacks. Kale, on the other hand, was the receiver of most of the attacks since he was in front.

However, despite his situation, he was able to endure all of it.

Whenever he attacked with his weapon, he would crush any Licker that got too close, while Vernon's sharpshooting and Nia's defensive magic ensured the team's control...

By the time they cleared the floor, the group was beginning to feel the strain of the escalating battles.

Nonetheless, with Shane's support, they were able to easily recover from every battle and continued to move forward.
