Chapter 158: One-sided Massacre

Chapter 158: One-sided Massacre

The princess, with a wave of her hand, spoke with authority as she said, "He must be sevely weakened. Our time to attack is now, men. We shall end the life of this intruder and retrieve his core for the sake of our king and queen." The guards let out a loud battle cry as they all decided to charge forward.

"So now you show your true colors," Akun said with a dead serious tone as he gazed coldly at the princess. Slowly, the dark silver used to make his armor flowed upward to form his helmet again. Once his helmet was fully formed, his eyes blazed with eerie intensity as he added with his deepened voice, "Well, it doesn’t matter."

As the guards closed in on Akun, he released a huge burst of aspect power from his body. The force was so instantaneous and powerful that it shattered the armor worn by the guards, sending them hurtling through the air while they coughed up blood.

Upon witnessing this, the princess’s eyes widened in disbelief. Her breath was caught in her throat as she saw her guards dispatched like they were nothing.

Time seemed to slow down as Akun walked slowly with the guards still falling from the air. Amidst the loud screams of the guards, for some reason, the sound of Akun’s footsteps seemed to command everyone’s attention.

Each of his steps echoed, signaling impending doom for the Dryads. His pitch-black armor screamed death, and his glowing purple eyes sent chills down the spines of all those who gazed at him. For some reason, the way his hands swayed from side to side as he walked, gave an air of chilling majesty to his presence.

As each guard landed on the ground, unconscious and producing a loud thud, Akun advanced toward the princess. His deepened voice sent shivers down her spine as he spoke slowly, "Princess, I’m sure you anticipated my arrival. And you understand why I’m here."

Rinalef was too terrified to respond; her gaze remained fixed on Akun, and her body trembled uncontrollably.

Rinalef’s silence irritated Akun. Beneath his helmet, he gritted his teeth as he yelled with a burst of aspect power, "You do know I’m talking to you, right! And you dare remain silent?" The force behind his voice, enhanced by aspect power, sent the princess flying through the air until she crashed into the castle building.

Akun, with his enhanced senses, noticed some dryads watching from a treehouse. He turned his gaze toward them, and their faces were filled with terror, frozen with fear. Slowly, Akun lifted his left hand, with his open palm facing the treehouse. He then suddenly closed it, causing the house to implode due to his aspect power.

The dryads inside were crushed, and blood splattered from the building, falling onto the forest floor.

Akun then continued to walk directly towards the tree castle. He noticed a group of other guards charging forward with spears in their hands.

Seeing this, Akun crouched slightly, lifted his right leg, and swiftly stomped the ground. Shocks rippled through the earth, and suddenly the ground where those guards were approaching exploded, sending all of them flying into the air. Akun then stood up straight, facing the guards flying in the air along with the rubble from the earth.

Time seemed to slow down as he put both of his hands in front of him, mimicking a swimming motion.

Suddenly, he performed a sweeping motion with both of his hands. Immediately, the guards and the rubble in the air were sent hurtling in opposite directions due to the force of Akun’s aspect power.

This action cleared a path as he redirected the force to demolish other treehouses, resulting in the instant demise of not only the guards but also the residents of those homes.

Just as Akun was about to continue his advance, one of the guards from the initial group he had sent flying earlier emerged behind him. The guard was battered, his armor lay in ruins, and blood mingled with sweat on his face. Blood trickled from both sides of his mouth as he clutched a polished wooden spear. With all his might, he yelled, "Die, intruder!" and thrust the spear towards Akun.

However, as the spear met Akun’s dark silver armor, it shattered. "I... Impossible," the guard mumbled in disbelief, his eyes widening in shock.

Swiftly, Akun turned to face the guard. He grabbed the man by his neck and hoisted him off the ground. The guard squirmed and struggled, trying in vain to break free from Akun’s grip. With a bone-chilling tone, Akun remarked, "You are courageous. I must commend you for that. But a mere display of courage won’t save your tribe tonight."

Suddenly, black silver spikes protruded from all over the man’s body with a chilling thud. The guard ceased squirming immediately, his lifeless hands falling to his sides. He had perished, his body riddled with openings that had turned him into a macabre pincushion, with blood flowing freely.

Akun flung the man’s lifeless body to the ground and redirected his gaze toward the castle, continuing his advance. He mused inwardly, "I can’t allow any of them to survive my attacks. I should aim to deliver more fatal blows by creating weapons from silver, which I will enhance with my aspect power."

Suddenly, a voice called out to Akun from behind him, "Stop right there."

Akun mumbled, "I swear, you Dryads keep appearing when you’re supposed to already be dead. Are you guys immortal or something?" He redirected his gaze towards a Dryad guard who was standing admist the rubble, but there was something different about him. He wore a scarf and light armor, indicating he was a fast, close-range fighter rather than a tank.

His wooden spear appeared to be some how metallic, similar to the roots of the ancient tree. Bruises, scratches, and cuts covered his body, and his breath came out as ragged gasps.

Observing the guard’s weapon, Akun mumbled, "I honestly don’t know why you Dryads think you can use wooden spears to break through silver armor. It’s just plainly idiotic."
