Chapter 2459  Reading Minds.

Killshot left sometime later, but not before claiming that she would drop by whenever she wanted to. Even long after her departure, the topic in the courtyard still remained on her and Grimsight.

It was hard to determine a lot of facts from their past, but Grimsight was opening up a bit more, and hopefully, with time, they would learn even more.

"Don't talk too much about Gods," Grimsight told them. "Not only are their Divine Senses quite strong, but they can even hear you despite not being close by. Not to mention, some of them can even listen to your conversations through Spiritual Sense."

"Woah!" Momo was amazed by the knowledge.

"They can listen to our conversations with Spiritual Sense?" Alex asked. That was the part he focused on the most.

"Some of them can, so you have to be careful what you say," Grimsight said.

"Do you have to be careful what you think too?" Momo asked.

"No. Your thoughts are your own," Grimsight said. "But there are techniques that allow others to read your mind too."

Alex narrowed his eyes. "You mean by searching our spirits, right? They can't just read our minds," he said. He had the Soul Search technique that allowed him to read someone's memories too. Surely that was what Grimsight was talking about.

"No, they can stand a good distance away from you and tell what you're thinking about," Grimsight said. "It was a group of demons who could do that, as far as I remember. They had this technique that let them read your Intent and understand what you were going to do before you did it."

"It was a technique, so even a human could get that and may have learned it already."

Alex was a little scared of the possibility of having people read his thoughts while he just walked past them unknowingly. "Can they read everything?" he asked. "Or is it cruder than what I'm thinking?"

Grimsight shook his head. "I don't really know how deeply they can read our minds. But I fought enough to know that they were definitely reading our minds. At first, I thought they were gazing into the future to see what was going to happen, but that was not the case."

Alex was quite fascinated by this. Seeing as Grimsight was being so talkative today, he decided to ask even more questions and kept Grimsight talking.

"How did you figure that out?" Alex asked.

"I hid my thoughts from them," Grimsight explained. "It was difficult at first, but soon I had developed an Intent that stopped them from reading my other Intents. It took an embarrassing few years to learn it completely."

Alex was quite fascinated by this. Seeing as Grimsight was being so talkative today, he decided to ask even more questions and kept Grimsight talking.

Grimsight seemed to be in the mood, so he didn't stop either.

It wasn't until a few hours later that Grimsight finally decided he had said enough and stopped. By that time, Alex and the rest were pretty satiated in their curiosity as well. They could continue the conversation at some other time.

With Grimsight silent, Silvermist talked to Alex and Momo, asking them about Momo's invitation to the Alchemy God's group.

They discussed it for a while and soon came to the decision that it was best for Momo to accept the invitation. Silvermist knew that he couldn't teach her anything that the Alchemy God couldn't, and given that Momo would still remain his Grand-disciple, he could always help her if she needed it.

Not to mention, since Alex would be leaving this world in a few months, there wasn't a reason for Momo to not join.

After all the talk, Momo retreated into her room to continue her cultivation. So much had happened that day that she needed rest after all of it. Then, once she was fully rested, she could try and see if she could call the Pill Lightning once again.

This time, she was going to successfully make a pill.

The next day, late in the morning, the Alchemy God himself arrived in their courtyard.

Whitesong wore his memorable green robe as he sat on the porch of the courtyard, looking outside.

"Your Majesty, what are you doing here?" Silvermist asked as he walked out of the room.

"I wanted to talk about a few things," Whitesong said as he waited for the others to walk out. He looked toward Grimsight and nodded slightly. "My apologies for ignoring you all these years, Brother Spearheaven. I always knew about you, but I never truly understood who you were. Not until the Poison God came to chat with me yesterday, and I had to find out from him."

"It's understandable, Your Majesty," Grimsight said. "You're young, after all."

Whitesong smiled a little. "It's a common misconception," he said. "Because I only became a God 40,000 years ago, people think I'm young. When, in fact, I'm older than Alchemist Silvermist over here."

Silvermist narrowed his eyes a little. "I'm over 230,000 years old, Your Majesty."

"And I was alive long before that," Whitesong said, smiling a little. "I don't think you know it, but I actually took part in the Alchemy tournament—the one you became a Star in."

Silvermist's eyes widened a little at that. "You were there? I… I don't remember you, Your Majesty."

"Of course you wouldn't," Whitesong said. "I lost in the second round. All I had going for me in Alchemy at that time was my motivation. I had no talent."

Silvermist refused to believe that. "No way you were that bad, Your Majesty. You're surely lying."

"I am not," the Alchemy God said. "I was truly quite terrible when it came to making pills. Thankfully, I didn't give up, and this dropped in my lap at that time, allowing me to learn as much as I wanted about making pills."

The Book of Endless Recipes appeared on Whitesong's lap, its blue cover reflecting the morning light.

Both Silvermist and Grimsight's eyes widened at that moment. The Alchemy God saw their expressions and said nothing. He was used to shock and surprise whenever he brought out the artifact. Sometimes he liked bringing it out just for that.

He held the book for a moment. "I trained with this book every day. I would get random ingredients and see what pill I could make with them, and then try to make the pill. Once I learned how to do that, I would try and see how much I could learn from them."

"For tens of thousands of years, I continued learning every pill and every ingredient I came across with this book. Learning everything one at a time. And after so many, many years, I was finally able to obtain the title of the Alchemy God."

Whitesong appeared melancholic at the moment.

"My elders in the sect back then helped, of course, but almost all of the credit for who I am today goes to this book."

The book flashed and disappeared back into his Soul Space. He took in a deep breath and put on a wide smile. "I end up rambling every time I want to talk about this. I nearly forgot what I was here for, even."

Silvermist's eyes narrowed. "What are you here for, Your Majesty?" he asked.

"To talk about a few things," Whitesong said. "To start with, I hear Junior Zhe Moyang refused to join the Poison God's cult. So, I was wondering if she had any intention of coming to learn and work under me instead."
