“Forget it, Dad, don’t argue with him anymore,” Chi Yu said, patting his back to soothe him. “He believes that since we adopted him, we should give him a third of our family’s wealth. He can’t see any of the good we’ve done for him: even the slightest mistreatment is seared into his heart. His mind is twisted, he thinks the whole world owes him, resents him. Getting angry with someone like this is not worth it.”
“It’s not me who is sick, it’s you guys!” Chi Zhen yelled out. “You all claim to treat me well but the car I drive is not as good as yours, the positions you occupy in the company are higher than mine, and I’m left out from the company’s inheritance. Nobody supports me when I say I want to marry Chi Qing! You all might speak sweetly, but I know that you look down on me, don’t even see me as a person!”
Chi Yu laughed coldly. “You’re nothing more than my father’s nephew. We’ve done our best by taking you in; you still want rights to our family’s business?
