Atticus was tall. In fact, tall was an understatement. Because of his height, they had to adjust the door to his room to accommodate him. Luckily, the ceiling had been high in the first place.
And his presence appeared serene, so peaceful he could calm the most anxious of minds.
'Stop fawning over yourself, bond. You're not even as good-looking as me,'
Atticus heard Ozeroth's snide remark inwardly. He scoffed.
'Please, the only thing you have going for you is your goatee, which I know you trim practically every second.'
'Take that back! Back in the spirit realm, women would get wet just being in my presence!'
'Don't forget we share minds…'
'Don't you dare!' Ozeroth roared in his mind, as though he was ready to explode should Atticus finish that sentence.
Atticus held in his laughter before muttering, "Virgin."
Atticus waited for the inevitable explosion; however, it never came.
'Hmm? That's surprising,' Atticus thought. Normally, Ozeroth would have erupted, screaming at the top of his lungs, but a few seconds passed and nothing happened. He was silent.
'Aw, are you angry? It's alright, Ozzy, you're not alone.'
Atticus could practically feel the spirit trembling like a boiling kettle inwardly as he heard his nickname.
During the months of constant training, they had fought and trained multiple times, and during it, their relationship and bantering had only deepened.
Atticus had given Ozeroth a nickname. One that, as he heard it, the spirit had immediately threatened to turn his entire being into ashes if he called him that again.
But that didn't stop Atticus. He constantly called him that, especially during their banters. The worst he got had been a few punches to his face.
Atticus welcomed the spars. Observing Ozeroth refined his fighting skills to an extraordinary degree compared to battling with the data of different warriors.
Ozzy—ahem, Ozeroth—remained silent even after hearing Atticus shamelessly also call himself a virgin.
Atticus sighed. 'What a baby…' Ozeroth's trembling increased, and Atticus could feel that he was trying really hard to hold himself back from exploding.
'Hm?' Atticus suddenly felt another emotion surge through his body.
He turned his gaze towards a large black egg sitting on his bed. He held back his smile.
'Even you think it's funny, huh?'
He could feel the excitement of the egg, and he could tell that it found the situation funny.
'Isn't it about time you hatched?'
Atticus felt its emotion change from excitement to sadness, and he sighed.
Since he had gotten the egg from the Frostbane family, it had only grown bigger, never hatching. He had asked the Frostbane directly if there was anything he had to do, however, he received the same answer Magnus had given him: it will hatch when it's time.
'At least I didn't have to take it everywhere.'
The emotions of the egg shifted into anger at Atticus' remark.
'Right, sorry, sorry,' though he said that, he didn't really mean it. During the first weeks, Atticus had to take the egg everywhere he was going. Although he didn't go past his training room and the main mansion, it was still a bit annoying.
However, after some months, he became able to move without it, though it shouldn't be for long periods of time, or else it'd start getting restless.
The egg's anger intensified as it sensed Atticus' deceit, and Atticus had to take a few seconds to pacify it.
"Just be lucky I was able to find a way for you to come with me to the military,"
Atticus muttered as he lifted the egg. It was large but appeared weightless.
He brought out a small chest from his space ring, which expanded as he channeled his mana.
"It's alright, I'll take you out as soon as I can," Atticus said soothingly as the egg started whining.
As Atticus placed the egg inside the chest, it shrunk down to a miniature size, and Atticus placed it inside his robe.
He had received this artifact from Magnus some days back when he expressed his confusion at how to move with the egg when he went to the military. The last thing he wanted was hauling a large egg wherever he went.
With that settled, Atticus took a deep breath.
'I guess it's time. Let's see my improvements first.'
He decided to check his status before moving.
