Chapter 1218: What About North

?

Archer and Vivienne walked through Runefire City and noticed it was extremely busy as people filled the street. While exploring the city, the ant queen turned to him with a big smile. "This place is chaotic. Even with more people on your island, Dragonheart isn't this busy."

"It's because I built apartments in every city which goes up to twenty floors. They hold thousands of people, Vivi," he revealed the secret that kept Draconia growing.

The woman's red eyes widened in shock, but a smile soon appeared. "What are apartments? And where did you get the idea from?"

Archer used Mana Manipulation to create a picture of one building from Earth and showed them to the redhead which made her ask, "Yours look different though, these are too small."'

"That's exactly why I designed them, to accommodate more people," he explained as the two noticed a market in the distance and began making their way toward it.

They stepped into the bustling market. Stalls lined the narrow pathways, overflowing with vibrant spices, fresh produce, and shimmering fabrics. The air was thick with the scent of roasted chestnuts and sweet pastries.

Vivienne paused by a jewelry stand, her eyes catching the glint of a delicate silver necklace. "This is beautiful," she murmured, running her fingers over the sophisticated design.

Archer was scanning their surrounding with his mana and sensed no danger so turned back to the ant queen who was browsing the stall until stopped at another that sold a bracelet with a beautiful red gem that matched her eyes.

He bought it, which surprised Vivienne, but the older woman who was the stall owner smiled, "That piece would suit your wife's red eyes," she said.

"I agree, how much?" Archer asked.

The owner smiled before replying, "One gold young man, that's a blood diamond from the demon lands, very hard to get now days."

Without hesitation, Archer pulled out two coins and handed them to the old woman. Her eyes widened in disbelief, but he offered a reassuring nod. "Please, take it. The bracelet is worth every bit," he insisted with a gentle smile.

Turning to Vivienne with a charming smile, he held out the delicate piece of jewelry. "Can I have your hand?"

Blushing slightly, she extended her hand; her smile bright as sunlight. Archer carefully fastened the bracelet around her wrist, the gem catching the light as her eyes sparkled with delight.

"It's beautiful," she whispered, admiring the piece.

"Not as gorgeous as you," Archer said with a playful grin, earning a warm laugh from her. Vivienne slipped the bracelet onto her wrist, and Archer couldn't help but notice the radiant joy lighting up her face. She glanced up at him, her eyes shimmering with gratitude, before stepping closer and surprising him with a passionate kiss.

The moment lingered, warm and intimate, before they pulled apart. The stall owner, smiling knowingly, pointed them toward a nearby restaurant. Archer turned to thank the old woman, his voice filled with genuine appreciation, before guiding the ant queen in that direction. She clung to his arm; her smile was uncontainable while admiring the bracelet again and again. Archer chuckled softly, enjoying the warmth of her presence as they made their way to dinner.

As the couple walked, he remember the two new queens and asked, "Who are the new queens? They evolved recently?"

Vivienne looked at him before answering with a smile, "They are strange women and keep to themselves. You may need to visit them as their children are aggressive and attack everything around them, including each other."

Archer started laughing when hearing this. "I'll do that when I get some free time. The Avidia invasion is underway. Ashoka is marching across the west conquering settlements for us and when the other legions get here, they'll march east."

"What about north?" she questioned as they turned onto the road that the restaurant was on.

"I plan to wait until the east and west are under my control before taking the rest, as the north is the main part of the Duskfire and only a few mountain passes lead that way," he revealed. Vivienne nodded in understanding as she offered, "My children are ready for battle, my love. If you wish, I can dispatch a million powerful army of ants to aid the legions in the war."

Archer smiled, "Thank you, I may take you up on that offer, they will be useful with the amount of enemies that are on Avidia," he replied.

Following that, the couple spotted the restaurant, which looked fancy, but it was busy with people going in and out. They approached the place and entered, only to see servers rushing around tending to the patrons.

While standing there, a young man approached them with a welcoming smile, "Welcome to the Golden Goose restaurant, I'm Marcus. How can I help you today?"

"Table for two, please," Archer answered, as the server led them to a back table.

It overlooked the port, which was perfect as Vivienne sat down first and he followed as Marcus handed them a menu. The couple started reading, but the redheaded beauty said with an excited smile. "Bring us two of everything and some of your strongest wine."

Archer blinked in surprise but complied with the command, watching as the young man departed, leaving the two of them alone. Once they had settled comfortably, Vivienne turned her glittering crimson gaze toward him and spoke with a warm smile. "Thank you for taking me out, Master. It feels wonderful to spend time together like this."'

"It does Vivi,'' he replied just as Duskfire soldiers started marching passed the restaurant which caught his eye causing him to think, "They're heading for the southern gate.'

The ant queen noticed where he was looking and turned, only to see the soldiers causing her

to speak. "I think they'll try to attack the northern fortress."

Archer chuckled, "Let them try, the amount of cannons waiting for them is honestly shocking," he said.

Following that, Marcus returned holding two bottles and placed them on the table while speaking. "Looks like the empress is taking the invaders serious. I heard they took Emberport. I feel sorry for their people."

The couple grew curious, causing Archer to ask, "What's going? We came from there a week ago and everything was fine?"

When the server heard this a frown appeared before he revealed the latest gossip in Runefire, ''I heard from a traveling merchant that the White Dragon King has invaded the southern part of Duskfire, we're lucky that they attacked Emberport because the Alliance has them

trapped."

"How so? Couldn't they fortify the passes?" Vivienne questioned.

Marcus chuckled as a sparkle appeared in his eyes, "They could, but there are millions of us against a million of them? The Draconian King was foolish to attack the empire. Our empress is a skill general and powerful fire mage."'

Archer nodded before replying with a knowing smile, "Seems like this Draconia has messed up. It poked the wrong monster and will suffer."

Just as he said that, his senses picked up someone watching them from the outside but ignored it so they could enjoy their date. While doing that Vivienne commented with a sly smile, "Looks like we've been spotted, my love. Thought they're not moving?" "Yes, let's eat first," he replied while eating some of the grilled meat that reminded him of chicken. "We can go for a walk and lead them into a trap using your assassins,"

When the redhead heard his plan, her eyes sparkled with excitement as she agreed, "We can summon them in an alleyway or something."

Following that, Marcus continued to bring food over while the couple ate and enjoyed every meal. Archer was downing the wine without a problem, causing Vivienne to comment with a curious expression, "Don't you get drunk like the humans?"

"No, it takes something special to get to me," he answered with a knowing smile, "Seraphina always has it. I'll get some of her next time."

The ant queen's smile grew wider as she teased, "Planning to take advantage of me, Master?"

Archer's eyes shone with lust but answered honestly, "Yes, it would be fun to drink with you before making love."

When Vivienne heard this, her cheeks turned as red as her hair, which made him smile. The older woman glanced at him. "Do you mean that?"

"Yes," he replied as the two got back to eating.

Afterward, Marcus approached the table when noticing they nearly finished the food and gave them the bill. When he saw this, it was eight gold, which wasn't as much as he expected. Archer paid for the food and wine before the two left the restaurant and started walking down main street. Vivienne wanted to see the river that snaked through the city, causing their

stalkers to trail them.

"We need to find an alleyway, Master," the ant queen commented.
