Sorcerer: I want to be an Academic Prodigy

Chapter 190 Tests and Visions

Chapter 190 Tests and Visions

"A runes sorcery array with only 12 runes bundles should definitely be easy pickings for Sorcerer Ivan."

Solomon was unusually decisive. As soon as he agreed, he produced a rhombic crystal, which contained the blueprint for creating a high-level magicalized item — the Multi-changing Star Spike. The corresponding array for the Multi-changing Star Spike is called the 'Multi-changing Star Runes Array', and consists of 12 3D runes bundles.

The function of the Multi-changing Star Spike is very singular, having only one purpose, which is to break open runes sorcery arrays.

Ivan knew about another magicalized item used to break runes sorcery arrays called the 'array-breaking drill'.

The array-breaking drill is a particular low-level magicalized item with a limited use range. It can only be used to pry open broken elementary arrays and is usable up to three times at most.

Compared to the Multi-changing Star Spike before him, the array-breaking drill is hardly worth mentioning.

"Twelve runes bundles, corresponding to twelve aspects, which include plants, fire, water, earth, wind, thunder, light, shadow, toxins, spirit, life, and space. This seems to be meant to break open all elementary runes sorcery arrays, presenting me with quite the challenge," he said.

Seeing that it was an elementary runes sorcery array made up of 12 runes bundles, Ivan also thought it would be an easy task. However, after carefully reading the blueprint, he felt overwhelmed.

Leaving aside other aspects, just the space-type runes involved were touching upon his area of ignorance.

He regretted agreeing so quickly.

"I hope you can give me a fixed time, how long approximately do you think it will take to create it?"

"Three months."

Regardless, it was indeed an elementary runes sorcery array with just 12 runes bundles. Since he had seen someone else's blueprint and it was a test for beginners, Ivan naturally wanted to complete it flawlessly, forcing himself to give an appropriate time.

"Ha ha, I truly did not misjudge you," Solomon laughed, looking at him with an expression that seemed to say 'just as I expected'. "I will send the materials over. Once you begin crafting, I will reluctantly assign you a guard to prevent any undesirable interruptions."

"I think you're just afraid I might sneak off," Ivan joked.

"Heh, to be honest, given your current strength, I'm really not worried about you hiding," Solomon revealed with a meaningful smile.

Hearing this seemingly arrogant statement, Ivan felt depressed.

What the other party said was very likely the truth. Although he had not intentionally hidden himself, it was not something anyone could easily find, but the other party had pinpointed his location accurately, which said something.

Moreover, considering the power Solomon had shown in the Red Cloud Realm, the outcome of a confrontation with him was clear.

After the discussion, Solomon left the valley.

Ivan was left staring at the rhombic crystal in his hand, his eyes shining. This rhombic crystal was no ordinary item but was a magicalized item blueprint made from high-grade materials and techniques, containing various 3D runes, including those needed for space.

Whose blueprint reveals all 3D runes directly?

This item could very well be treated like an 'Advanced Runes Book' or even a heirloom of a great sorcerer family, but to Sorcerer Solomon, the rhombic crystal was just a piece of blueprint.

"What kind of mythical force is Solomon's organization really?"

Although having met only twice, Ivan could tell that Solomon was a person who was confident to the point of arrogance, probably bolstered by the support of his organization. Compared to the miserly Mongna Ant Land Cottage, it was like a mythical organization.

It was hard for him not to have expectations for that organization.

"This time, I must give it my all."

Ivan made a decision, and the first thing he needed to do was to comprehend and decipher the runes. Without the 3D runes for enlightenment, he could only grope blindly with the blueprints and might have to retract his earlier statements.

What he didn't know was that Solomon actually knew he hadn't studied those space runes. The reason was simple—the academy on the Moon Pincer Peninsula only provided a simplified version of the intermediate and advanced Enchantment knowledge which didn't cover those complex runes.

It was a test—he had to make it challenging while also giving him a chance to complete it. Otherwise, how could he write a convincing recommendation letter? Having it rejected would be a blow to Solomon's reputation.

The next day, Solomon sent a large quantity of materials to the valley.

Because of this, Ivan had to expand his stone cottage, utilizing his proficient 'Mud to Rock Transformation' skills and element particle manipulation techniques. In a short time, the cottage transformed into a palace, and he inscribed it with simple warning and protective runes bundle arrays.

After constructing the site, he began his own comprehension and deciphering.

Up until now, both his [Enchantment Skill] and [Runes Skill] were at Level 6. Additionally, he possessed three portions of Level 6 Light of Wisdom, two portions of Level 4 Light of Great Wisdom, and one portion of Level 7 Light of Great Wisdom.

That was why he was confident enough to boast that he could complete the commission in three months.

While Ivan was studying the blueprints, Solomon sent out what appeared to be a Level 2 Sorcerer puppet to guard the safety of the valley.

Time flew by, and more than a month had passed in the blink of an eye.

The emergence of another matter forced Ivan to interrupt his comprehension of the blueprints. It was the crucial moment of the Silkworm Queen's transformation where success or failure would once again be determined.

This transformation of the Silkworm Queen was extraordinary. It triggered a resonance among the element particles. Soon, a unique Elemental Phenomenon formed in the sky above the valley.

Blue smoke rolled in waves, with a giant beast soaring with wings so vast they seemed to split the heavens, though its true form remained unseen.

Around the mass of blue smoke, there was a ring of milky white halo, thin as gauze, adding a multi-colored flair to the Elemental Phenomenon.

Ivan stayed in the room where the Silkworm Queen was transforming. Inside, another scene unfolded—large numbers of element particles were drawn into the light cocoon, becoming part of its power.

After observing for nearly an hour, he discovered the key factor that had been delaying the Silkworm Queen's completion of its transformation. The space energy around it was difficult to harness, seemingly beyond the queen's capacity, and could only be worn down gradually over time.

"So be it, I will lend you a hand."

Having understood the problem, Ivan did not hesitate to use some of the materials Solomon had sent. He began setting up array daises around the area, inscribing runes lines, and constructing a simple runes bundle array to draw in the sparse space energy gathered around.

Of course, he only used a small portion of the materials. In the business of enchanters, this was called "consumables" and was a perfectly normal practice.

While Ivan was busy, the Elemental Phenomenon in the valley had already caught the attention of some astute individuals. Somehow, the news spread quickly, reaching the ears of some sorcerers.

Solomon was the first to arrive. He discovered the activities inside the stone temple.

"Not bad, not bad, my discernment is as sharp as ever. This makes me even more reassured," he said, not only refraining from blaming Ivan but also revealing a smile upon realizing Ivan's actions.

Without waiting long, Solomon, not minding the busy Ivan or the other sorcerers that might be attracted, quietly left the valley.
