"Alright, thank you. I'll be right there," replied Gu Shaoting after glancing at the documents on his desk, then he stood up and strode into the conference room.

During the meeting, Gu Shaoting's face was stern, his demeanor forceful. Someone had made a mistake—not a fatal one. Normally, Gu Shaoting would probably just issue a reprimand, but for some reason, today he was quite severe.

Everyone was on edge, wondering what was going on with the CEO today.

Xia Xiaoqiao was witnessing Gu Shaoting's outburst for the first time, yet she wasn't scared; instead, she found this side of Gu Shaoting very charismatic, authoritative, and even more befitting of a CEO.

After the meeting dispersed, everyone gradually left until only Gu Shaoting and Xia Xiaoqiao were left in the conference room.

Gu Shaoting pinched the bridge of his nose, still with his eyes closed.

"Mr. Gu, are you alright? Director Lu's secretary just called, he's tied up and will come in the afternoon," Xia Xiaoqiao reported diligently.

"It's fine, no problem," Gu Shaoting opened his eyes and then got up to return to his office.

The moment he returned to his office, he saw that the door was left ajar, and Gu Shaoting thought, apart from He Ming, who else would dare do this?

"Oh, it's just that now Shu Pan has gone back to work, I feel out of sorts. Why can't she just happily stay home? Why go through the trouble?" Gu Shaoting complained, now unable to see his wife at every moment.

"How did the meeting go today?" He Ming inquired.

"You have the nerve to ask, it was supposed to be you leading it," Gu Shaoting replied sharply with a glare.

"What can I do? Xiaomeng woke up this morning, throwing up until she was spitting bile. I was worried, so I stayed with her for a while." The news of Xiaomeng's pregnancy was a happy event, but seeing her so distressed made him feel pained.

The previous pregnancy with their daughter didn't seem this severe, but now it was quite outrageous.

Gu Shaoting looked at him enviously, "You lucky guy."

"Heh, you've got a son and a daughter yourself, and you're envious of me? Whats' up? Not having it easy recently?" He Ming noticed Gu Shaoting seemed to be bothered.

"Oh, it's just that now Shu Pan has gone back to work, I feel out of sorts. Why can't she just happily stay home? Why go through the trouble?" Gu Shaoting complained, now unable to see his wife at every moment.

"Brother Ting, one can't be selfish in life, as long as they're happy. If it wasn't for Xiaomeng's pregnancy, she would definitely go back to work too," He Ming persuaded, understanding Gu Shaoting, who had a bit of male chauvinism, and couldn't accept the thought of his wife toiling away at another company.
