?
Turns out that there was a reason for for the elder to bring him this time around wasn't for personal help. Instead, the plan was to leave the Blue Larcal Cheetah in the Mortal World from the very start!
-After the mayhem you caused with that chick of the Flopa Caracal race, you had it coming for you. I managed to prevent their experts from taking your life, but you are definitely marked in their minds. For now, stay in the Mortal Realm. I also arranged so your ID would not be accepted in the teleport formation, so forget about trying to pay for the return by yourself. I will be back in a hundred years when the dust settles down.-
That was the message left behind. Of course, the one who read it was Roan, who was visibly annoyed by that. "This guy turned out to be useless!"
Roan took a look around and found a hidden corner. He quickly activated Rean's Light and Divine Bending Skill, using its cover to bring the Blue Larcal Cheetah out of the Dimensional Realm. Finally, Roan gave everything back to the Cheetah, took a little of Rean's Light Element, and helped the Larcal to wake up.
Before the Cheetah even opened its eyes, Roan disappeared. Since he couldn't use the cheetah, he had no reason to stay with it or use its ID. The Blue Larcal Cheetah felt sluggish, finding it hard to get up. Only then did it remember that it was looking for the meat of the Mortal World when, when... it couldn't remember what happened after that.
"Hum?" It looked down and saw its CD blinking, a sign that a message was left for him. Looking around, he felt confused. "Just how did I end up back in the city...?" Finally, he opened the CD, and his expression turned horrible. One could only hear the curses coming from that corner. He would get even worse once he found out that his Divine Stones were also gone. It goes without saying he thought that the one who knocked him out was his master.
Roan cared not about any of that, though. He was already far away from where he left the cheetah. Nonetheless, he was also annoyed to have worked this much and to get nothing in return. Well... he did get the Divine Stones, although that didn't ease his feelings even a bit. 'You saw that, right?'
Rean nodded in the Dimensional Realm. 'Yeap. Seems like we are back to the drawing board. Let's go back to the teleport building and wait to see if we can find someone else to use.'
Roan stopped for a moment, thinking about this situation. They could indeed find someone sooner or later, but that was also kind of a lottery. 'No, we are changing our approach. Such an important formation like that definitely needs a lot of maintenance, doesn't it? Who keeps tabs on it?'
Rean immediately understood Roan's idea. 'I see... There is no doubt that someone from the Divine Realm must be in charge of its maintenance. Not only one, but quite a few of its formations masters must be from there since that is a Divine Level Teleport Formation.' Roan nodded. 'Let's see if we can find one of those and then capture him instead.'
And so, Rean came out of the Dimensional Realm, and the twins once again restarted their investigation. It wasn't hard to find more about it, though. Divine Realm experts that live in this Mortal World are quite famous and revered since they are all in the Void Tempering Realm, some maybe even in the Space Bending. In just a few hours, the twins were able to find the residence of one of such formations masters in the city.
The twins stopped in front of the enormous residence, definitely more like a mansion than anything else. The quickest way to check about the formations master was to simply ask the mansion's guards.
Rean, using a different appearance, approached the guard with a smile. Since he was in the Peak Stage of the Transition Realm, he at least deserved a little bit of respect, even if such a level of experts weren't anything rare in this place. "Hello, friends. I would like to talk with the senior responsible for the formations of the Divine Realm. Do you know how I can apply for a meeting?"
One of the guards, a man in the Elemental Transformation Realm, didn't seem to care much about Rean's cultivation, though. "Why are you even here? If you need such a thing, go to the Divine Realm Base and inquire at the desk there. This is the personal residence of Lady Waritala, and she will receive no one one. For fuck's sake, try to use your head. If we let everyone who wants to talk with an expert of the Divine Realm enter, Lady Waritala would have to talk for the rest of her life."
Rean didn't take that to heart. To even be the guard of a Divine Realm expert, one definitely had to have some status as well. Instead, Rean approached the guard, putting something in his hand and speaking softly. "Yes, yes, yes. Please accept my apology. I hope this can make up for my mistake, friend."
The guard snorted, not expecting anything useful from Rean. Spirit Stones? He had plenty of them to use. However, when his Spiritual Sense entered the ring, his expression changed. A faint smile appeared on his face, and he put the Spatial Ring away. "I accept your apology. Now, just go and don't come back without an appointment."
At the same time, he sent Rean a Spiritual Sense message. 'The best way to meet her would be to catch her right when she arrives. She likes to fly on her own, so it is up to you to intercept her. She always comes back close to midnight and leaves early morning. As to what she will do to you for doing that, that is your problem and risk to take. Also... you did not hear that from me.'
